In 2025, Bredo carried out parquet refurbishment across 7 storeys and 500 m² in total for a large energy provider — sanding and re-sealing while the offices remained in use.
The brief
The energy provider's administrative headquarters has representative parquet flooring in corridors and kitchens — but after years of heavy use it was worn along walkways, worn out in the kitchen areas and, overall, no longer at a representative standard. Replacing the parquet would have been costly and time-consuming.
Why refurbishment instead of replacement
Solid parquet is a high-quality, long-lasting covering — and can be refinished several times over its life cycle. Professional refurbishment restores the floor's appearance and function to as-new condition, at a fraction of the cost and disruption of a full replacement.
Work carried out
- Sanding the existing 500 m² parquet floor in progressively finer grits
- Repairing damaged areas
- Filling joints with liquid wood filler
- Four fresh coats of high-quality hydro-acrylic sealant
- Floor-by-floor execution while the building stayed in operation
Result
A parquet floor that is once again high quality both visually and functionally, meeting the client's representative standard — without the offices needing to be cleared during the works. Staggering the work floor by floor meant each storey was fully completed before the next began. Comparable projects from our floor covering portfolio round out our service range.
