In 2024, Bredo carried out a thorough refurbishment of a bank branch in the Ruhr area across 650 m² — from stripping out the worn coverings, through reworking the existing raised floor, to laying the new floor covering.
Starting point
The branch's existing raised floor was functionally sound, but decades of use had left carpet coverings badly worn and individual floor panels damaged. A complete replacement was not economically justified — the existing substructure still had decades of service life left.
Work carried out
- Raised floor refurbishment across 650 m²
- Removal and disposal of the old carpet coverings
- Replacement of damaged floor panels with matching replacement panels
- Re-securing and re-levelling of the construction
- Laying new, high-quality floor coverings
Programme
The works ran in close coordination with branch operations — carried out in phases, at weekends and outside opening hours, so that neither staff nor customers were materially affected.
Result
A branch that looks like new again — at a fraction of the cost and downtime of a complete floor rebuild. That is the strength of raised floor refurbishment: preserve what exists, bring appearance and function back to as-new condition.
