Customer satisfaction guaranteed
For more than 30 years, Bredo has stood for quality, precision and durability in system flooring.
Our expertise is especially evident in the refurbishment of existing raised floor systems — fast, efficient and tailored to your requirements.
We place great importance on enabling refurbishment during ongoing operations, so as to disrupt your workflows as little as possible.

Why Refurbishment?

An existing raised floor doesn't always need to be replaced completely.
Often, a targeted refurbishment is enough to achieve an as-new appearance while maintaining the same stability and safety.
An energy optimisation of an existing raised floor system can also deliver significant energy savings after several years of use — for example in data centres.
Whether it's damaged panels, loose pedestals or a worn floor covering — we thoroughly inspect the system and only carry out the measures that are genuinely necessary.

Bredo Offers Holistic Refurbishment Concepts

The best part: you don't need to worry about anything. We have a mobile fleet of machinery that allows us to strip old coverings on site and re-cover the raised floor panels, for example with new carpet.

These work processes can also be carried out at night, on request and where required. You hand over your premises to us fully furnished and get them back clean and perfectly refurbished within 24 hours. This means refurbishment is possible even during ongoing operations, with full furnishing in place.

Our Promise

For every project, the individual solution is our focus.
We first analyse the condition of the floor, plan the refurbishment steps precisely and carry them out on schedule.

You can also rely on our expertise for any other questions about the refurbishment and maintenance of your raised floor. Because we always keep both feet firmly on the ground, offering you only what's genuinely needed to continue guaranteeing optimal comfort and safety.

We look forward to hearing from you!

On-site survey

Our specialists inspect the conditions on site, assess any existing floor systems and clarify technical details such as ceiling height, load requirements and installation needs.

03

Planning & quotation

Based on this analysis, we produce a detailed plan including technical specifications, material proposals and a transparent cost quotation.

04

Installation & quality assurance

Our installation teams deliver the project on schedule, cleanly and precisely. On completion, we carry out a quality check, provide documentation and – on request – a briefing on optimal use and maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Refurbishment

Yes. We regularly refurbish control rooms, data centres and administrative buildings while they remain in full operation. Work is carried out in small sections, often at night, at weekends or during agreed maintenance windows. Areas are enclosed dust-tight, and switchgear cabinets are relocated or fitted with protective enclosures. We align the schedule of works with your operating concept — including escalation and emergency procedures.

In most cases, yes. We're familiar with the common raised floor and hollow floor systems of the last 30 years and can supply matching replacement panels, pedestals and coverings — even if the original manufacturer is no longer on the market. We survey panels and pedestals on site and match dimensions, load class and grid. Where necessary, we fabricate bespoke elements.

Yes, provided the substructure (pedestals, joint seals) is technically sound. We inspect the substructure for corrosion, settlement and strength — if these are within tolerance, we replace only the panels and coverings. This saves considerable time and cost. Where individual pedestals are damaged, they're replaced without dismantling the entire floor. You'll receive as-built documentation on handover.

New frame panels are surveyed, manufactured in our workshop to match the existing grid, and connected to the existing substructure on site. Where needed, we install additional pedestals beneath the frame to ensure point loads are transferred properly. Connections to existing panels are finished tight with edge protection and a matching covering. The result is an extension that's visually and technically indistinguishable from the existing floor.

We select samples so the new covering harmonises with the existing system — in colour, texture and ESD behaviour. For partial refurbishments, we try to source identical or colour-matched coverings; where that's not possible, we suggest deliberately contrasting panels instead (for example, to mark out walkways). However, a 100% colour match with existing coverings that have worn over many years can never be guaranteed.

No — that's our guiding principle. We assess the existing floor for load capacity, levelness, covering condition and void usage, and replace only what genuinely needs replacing. Common scenarios: renewing just the covering, replacing just the panels, strengthening the substructure, or an energy-efficiency upgrade. A complete replacement is the exception. You'll receive a refurbishment concept that clearly sets out what stays and what's renewed.
