For a well-known water utility in the Ruhr area, Bredo installed a total of 2,500 m² of poured hollow floor with a linoleum covering in 2024.
The brief
As part of a new-build project, these areas were designed for use as laboratory and water-analysis space for the water utility. Hygiene, durability and longevity were the key requirements for the floor covering.
Why a poured hollow floor
The seamless screed surface creates a uniform, high-quality look with no visible panel grid. Beneath it, the void houses all the building services — and stays accessible via access hatches for future extensions or maintenance.
Work carried out
- 2,500 m² poured hollow floor in several construction phases
- Subsequent laying of the linoleum floor covering
- Phase planning with the main contractor and building-services planners
Result
A representative, seamless floor area that offers the full flexibility of a flooring system. The linoleum covering ensures durable, environmentally friendly and comfortable use of the floor.
