5,400 m² Floor Covering Across 34 Lounge Areas – Energy Provider, Essen

In 2024, Bredo fitted 34 lounge areas totalling 5,400 m² of new floor covering for a well-known energy provider from Essen — coordinated on a very tight schedule and in parallel with ongoing office operations.

The brief

The challenge in this project was not a single large area, but the sheer number of individual zones: 34 scattered lounge zones, each with its own design requirements, transitions and logistics — all within a main administrative building used daily by hundreds of staff.

Work carried out

• Installation of 5,400 m² of floor covering across 34 lounge areas
• Phase planning in close coordination with facility management and interior design
• Material selection per zone — representative areas versus heavily used walkways
• Clean detailing around columns, glass walls and furniture placements

Logistics and programme

Well-rehearsed installation teams worked zone by zone — each lounge was fully handed over within a few days, so office operations in the surrounding areas continued undisturbed. The sequence of construction phases was chosen so that no two neighbouring zones were closed at the same time.

Result

A consistently high-quality look across the break and lounge areas — completed on schedule and with minimal disruption to day-to-day business. For later renovation needs, our refurbishment team can draw on the same flooring system.
