As part of the comprehensive refurbishment of a commercial property in Duisburg, Bredo laid around 12,000 m² of high-quality floor coverings for a well-known railway company from Berlin — modern office and conference rooms with high functional and design standards.
The brief
The railway company had moved into new administrative and conference space in Duisburg. The existing floor, made up of a hollow floor with raised floor cable runs down the centre of the corridors, was in good condition. What was needed, however, was a new covering that would deliver the acoustics, look and load capacity of a modern open-plan office — while also picking up the railway operator's corporate design.
Work carried out
- Installation of high-quality Interface carpet tiles across around 12,000 m²
- Preparation of the existing hollow floor as the substrate
- Precise junctions at columns, glass partitions and doors
- Detailed finishing in conference rooms and transition areas
Why modular carpet tiles
The modular structure of the Interface tiles was doubly useful here: it creates an even, calm look across large areas — and individual damaged tiles can later be replaced without a full renovation. This is exactly the principle we favour for raised floor refurbishment too: high load capacity, simple maintenance, long service life.
Result
A modern working environment with excellent underfoot comfort, very good acoustics and a look that stands up to daily use for years.
