For a leading general contractor from Düsseldorf, Bredo laid around 250 m² of high-quality parquet flooring (floor covering) in modern office space in the Düsseldorf harbour district — on a dry hollow floor that we had installed in an earlier construction phase.
The brief
New office space with high design standards has been emerging in the Düsseldorf harbour district for years — while tenants also need the full flexibility of modern office technology. This calls for a floor build-up that combines an upmarket choice of materials with the technical infrastructure of a flooring system.
Work carried out
- Preliminary phase: installation of the dry hollow floor for the building services
- Laying 250 m² of parquet on the existing flooring system
- Precision bonding for clean edge finishes
- Detailed work at walls, doors and structural junctions
Why parquet on a hollow floor
The combination is demanding, but well worth it: beneath the parquet, the complete building services sit invisibly within the void, while the solid wood above creates a high-quality, warm feel. This only works if both trades are planned in coordination with one another — at Bredo, from a single source.
Result
An elegant, hard-wearing flooring solution that combines comfort, acoustics and design — while retaining the full flexibility of modern office space.
